CNN acknowledges investigations into Hunters laptop paused during the 2020 elections

This morning CNN released an article titled 'Federal investigation of Hunter Biden heats up.' This article highlighter the different events that have occurred with the laptop since being confiscated by the FBI in 2018.

The foreign business activities being investigated date back to the time that resident joe biden was vice president for President Obama. Investigators are looking into his business dealings, looking for violations of money laundering, tax, and foreign lobbying laws, as well as firearms charges and other possible regulations.

Resident Joe is not currently being investigated but there have been multiple emails referring to the two bidens sharing bank accounts as well as messages insinuating joe (big guy) biden getting a cut of multiple barisma deals due to his stature in the political atmosphere.

CNN later acknowledges that covid as well as the 2020 elections had put a pause to investigations into hunters laptop. A note that I personally found interesting. Why did the FBI feel the need to stop investigations?
