Coffee Caye a crowdsourced Island, has begun giving tours

Coffee Caye is a 1.2 acre, privately owned island. The island was originally funded by the ‘Let's buy an Island’ group and received $250,000 in crowdsourced funding in order to purchase the said island. It is located off the coast of Belize and is the result of a decline in Belize city over the span of the last decade.

A man named Marshall Mayer had led the crowdsourcing mission that began in 2018. They were able to secure the funds they needed by December of 2019. The group originally set out on a nation-building expedition, going by the moniker ‘Principality of Islandia.’ The nation has its own flag, anthem as well as a government. Making it the world's most recent micronation (an entity that claims independence but isn't recognized as such by the international community).

Jump forward to today and Mayer has begun giving tours of Coffee Caye. The first tour they are running is a 13 person group of potential investors and others who are interested in the nation-building project.

IS THIS SOMETHING YOU WOULD WANT TO BE A PART OF?
