Macy's has made plans to increase their minimum wage to $15/hour across the company, by next May.
The plan will increase the companies overall average employee salary to $20/hour and base salary average of $17/hour.
Macy's also plans to add an education benefit that would cover 100% of tuition books and fees for students. They will aid with gaining bachelor's degrees, professional certifications, English learning classes, and even boot camps.
bidens recommendations to increase the federal minimum wage will further create wealth disparity in the United States and will put thousands of small businesses out. Many small companies will struggle to compete with these wages and will not be able to spend as much as Macy's does on benefits and compensation.
