Portland PD facing shortages, telling people there will be delays in response to 911 calls

Portland, just a year after defunding their police departments, is now facing shortages and is telling individuals they likely will not be able to keep up with typical response times for 911 emergency calls.

Many on the right were with the BLM movement's calls for police reform. There was a hardline at the defund the police movement, the implications were too dangerous. We knew that crime would skyrocket and it has. We knew that precincts would struggle to keep up with this rising crime while running on a much tighter budget. We cannot make legislature by whim, these were never good ideas and we should've taken some time to consider the ramifications.

Portland Police tweeted out the following statement:

"Due to critical incidents happening today and PPB's staffing shortage, officers are responding to Priority 1 and 2 calls only right now and response times may be delayed for certain calls."

THIS WAS A DISASTER FROM THE START!
