Southwest repeals vaccine mandates thanks to worker walkout

Gary Kelly, the CEO of Southwest Airlines went on an interview with CNBC on Tuesday, October 12th, and had made claims that the reason his company was enforcing vaccine mandates on his employees was because of bidens vaccine mandates.

He is noted as saying “I’ve never been in favor of corporations imposing that kind of a mandate. I’m not in favor of that. Never have been, But the executive order from President Biden mandates that all federal employees and then all federal contractors, which covers all the major airlines, have to have a [vaccine] mandate ... in place by Dec. 8, so we’re working through that.”

At the current moment, there is not a mandate on the covid vaccine. Texas recently created an anti-vaccine mandate executive order which would fine companies forcing vaccine mandates. This has led to a change of heart for the CEO and he has thus reversed his prior mandate on his employers to be vaccinated.

Employees will not be put on unpaid leave because they stood up and spoke out. It works, we need to see it more in this country!
