WBD announces they are pulling the plug on CNN+, just weeks after its March 29 launch

Brian Steinberg of Variety, originally reported Thursday morning, that Warner Brothers was planning to pull the plug on the news streaming service they had started less than a month ago.

Warner Bros merged with Discovery two weeks ago, and this seems like the first step in a line of changes for the two companies. According to some reports, David Zaslav the new CEO of Warner Bros discovery was never a fan of the streaming service idea for CNN from the onslaught. CNN+ was launched just weeks before the merger by former warner media and at&t CEO Jason Kilar. Some have questioned why the former CEO would invest the resources when they know it will be taken over soon. It could be a possible self-inflicted wound to make CNN and Warner Media look bad ahead of a takeover and a loss of his position.

Chris Licht, the new CEO of CNN put out a statement in regards to Warner Brothers taking this measure “This decision is in line with [Warner Bros. Discovery]’s broader direct-to-consumer strategy. In a complex streaming market, consumers want simplicity and an all-in service, which provides a better experience and more value than stand-alone offerings,” In short, nobody cares enough about CNN anymore to pay for their streaming service, and it was delusional to think many people would.

ANYTHING THAT GOES WOKE WILL ULTIMATELY GO BROKE!
